Matching Grant Project with RC Metz-Charlemagne

Matching Grant application, submitted by Rotary Club of Sofia-International and Rotary Club of Metz-Charlemagne for funding to help provide clothes, bedding, furniture and household items to six different orphanages in the cities of Plovdiv, Bratzigovo, Kalofer and Slaveyno-Smolyan, Bulgaria, has been approved by The Rotary Foundation (TRF). The award is in the amount of US$10,309.00.
Rotary Club of Metz-Charlemagne will coordinate the project internationally and will contribute US$8,104.00 (EUR 5,511.00) to the project. Rotary Club of Sofia-International will coordinate the project locally and will contribute US$500.00 to the project. The following districts will provide SHARE (DDF) Fund contributions: D-1790, US$4,007.00; and D-2482, US$2,000.00.
The total sum ammounts to US$24,920.00.

Rotary Club Sofia International donated four issues of the Atlas – The Bulgarians in the European Cartographic Tradition (3-19 Centuries) issued by Tangra TaNakRa Foundation.
Dental Support for Orphanage Children in Sofia
Rotary Club Sofia International has initiated a project, whereby Dr. Waltraud and Mag. Ing. Gfrerrer from Austria have donated dental equipment to the Dental Faculty of the Medical University of Sofia. With this equipment, children from Sofia orphanages will be treated for free at the Medical University.

Christmas Event for 160 Orphanage Children from Sofia
Rotary Club Sofia International in collaboration with Sofia Municipality has organized a Christmas event for 160 children from 6 orphanage homes in Sofia. During the event the children were hosted in Mc Donald’s Restaurant Slaveikov with children meals and afterwards they enjoyed watching a puppet show in the Puppet theatre on Gurko Str.
